GRIPFAST® ‘Off-Street’ Blister Tactiles are
designed to warn visually impaired people of the edge of all
‘off-street’ railway platforms.
The product consists of
offset rows of flat-topped blisters 5mm high, spaced 66.5mm apart from the
centre of one blister to the centre of the next.
GRIPFAST®
‘Off-Street’ Blister Tactiles are made from a durable GRP (glass
reinforced polyester) sheet incorporating a ‘near diamond hard’
aggregate for a long life span.
Two varieties of tactile are available;
1mm thick for bonding to level surfaces and 4mm thick for bonding or
mechanicallyfixing to more uneven surfaces. |

Product thickness:
• 1mm, 4mm base plus
5mm blister.
Colours:
• Standard: buff or grey. Tactiles must
be a contrasting colour to the existing substrate.
• Specific BS and
RAL colours available on application.
Standard tile size:
•
400mm x linear metre
Product benefits
• Manufactured from

• Good resistance to impact damage and will not
shatter in normal use.
• Incorporates a ‘near diamond hard’
aggregate to give a hardwearing anti slip surface.
• Tested by the
Transport Research Laboratory for the Joint Mobility Unit and used by Railtrack
plc and Network Rail.
• Conforms to DETR guidelines.
• Can be
easily glued and/or screwed down to virtually any surface, eliminating the need
for time consuming and costly excavation.
• Chamfered edge profile
ensures Tactiles do not pose a trip hazard. |
